LDAP Database installation for User Authentification

  • Hello Community,

my Goal is to have a LogIn template in php in which a user can LogOn to a specific portal, designed as Single-Sign on. The User Authentification should be via PHP/LDAP essentials. How can I manage this? I´ve searched the web and also forum but I cant see it.

I have LDAP Plug In in OMV installed, where does it appear? When I was installing OMV first time i have a slight memory in my mind that there was a Ldap Module to configure and create an Ldap Database for using querys over it, not?

The plugin is for connecting to an ldap / active directory server. It does not provide a server. There are many types of servers out there. Short list windows, openldap, freeipa or samba. You could install one on your openmediavault server but it could get complicated. Would be better to install in a vm or other box.

If you make it idiot proof, somebody will build a better idiot.

  • Hi, ah now I got it. Ok, i found ldap on my /etc/ldap/ldap.conf for example so i just continue in this direction ... found this: http://www.linuxhaven.de/dlhp/HOWTO/DE-LDAP-HOWTO.html .

With this manual it should work...not?
