Hi,
im a bit confused about Open VPN Connections.
I`ve configured the Open VPN Server with disabled standard gateway and push "route 10.8.0.1 255.255.255.0"
If i connect with my client i get 6 newly created routes whie my remote is 89.98.65.132
Target | Mask | Gateway | Interface | Metric
89.98.65.128 | 255.255.255.192 | 10.8.0.1 | 10.8.0.3 |20
10.8.0.0 | 255.255.255.0 | 10.8.0.3 |10.8.0.3 |276
10.8.0.3 | 255.255.255.255 |10.8.0.3 | 10.8.0.3 |276
10.8.0.255 | 255.255.255.255 |10.8.0.3 | 10.8.0.3 |276
224.0.0.0 | 240.0.0.0 | 10.8.0.3 | 10.8.0.3 | 276
255.255.255.255 | 255.255.255.255 | 10.8.0.3 |10.8.0.3 | 276
if i call the address 10.8.0.1 or 89.98.65.132 to get on the omv interface i did'nt get any connection.
also a traceroute to 10.8.0.1 and 89.98.65.132 does nothing.
if i manualy remove the route 89.98.65.128 255.255.255.192 10.8.0.1 10.8.0.3 20 on the client i get a more expected result.
traceroute to 89.98.65.128 goes through my isp the normal way and traceroute to 10.8.0.1 directly to the server.
The interface is callable through both adresses as i wanted to disable the normal communication with a firewall rule.
but i dont find a way to disable the creation of the route above.
What can i do to enable communication to the sever over vpn if a client connects without routing any trafic over the vpn connection?
