RAID 10 setup long resync

    • OMV 4.x
    • RAID 10 setup long resync

I have a fresh install of OMV 4.1.3-1 on a Z77 mainboard. Attached are 6x4TB and 1x250GB SSD. OMV is installed on the SSD.

Now I created a RAID 10 on the 6x4TB HDDs and it is still in resyncing state (since 14 hours - currently at 76%). I'm a little bit confused about the resync since I know this only from parity RAID setups like 5, 50, 6, 60, etc. and not from mirroring (striping) RAID.

Is this normal? Or should I abort this, wipe the HDDs again from the shell and start over? The HDDs were wiped before I created the RAID.
    • Sorry for the delayed response.

Really there's no accounting for sync times on large drives in even larger arrays. There are too many factors involved (drive types, controllers, the type of array, etc).

What did you do? How did it come out (or) how long did it take?
