• I'm trying to install wine but OMV just don't let me, say something about broken packages. Since my installation runs in Portuguese, It's senseless to place the message here, but basically it's saying that some related packages can't be installed because they were removed from "Incoming".

I have this Windows software, a game server, that I want to run using Wine. Using a whole VM just to run this thing sounds pointless to me. It has no graphical output, it actually runs quietly on windows, I can only see it running on the Task Manager, there is no window, no nothing (except error messages and alerts, that only pops up when something go wrong and the server can't start).

You guys have any Idea what I should do to get wine running?

Wine installs fine on my VM. Post your output. Google translate will help me :)

On a side note, is it possible to change system language to English-US?

    • Offizieller Beitrag

Follow this to change the language.

Something newer must be installed. What is the output of the following:

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
    ls -al /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

    omv 7.0.4-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.5 proxmox kernel

  • Thanks for the support on the language. Unfortunately, "Changes may not show inmediately, a reboot will be needed" ;( Current uptime is 33days and 15 hours.

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list

    ls -al /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

I'm guessing either the playonlinux or millers list are bringing requirements too new for the Debian squeeze version of wine. So, you either have to remove something or make a small VM. You could use puppy linux or tinycore to make it very small.
