I'm trying a new fresh install of OMV with the most recent version 0.5, but I recieve a package manager error while there are no network issues.
How can I solve this? Because when I choose the package manager from the setup option the error occurs, and I can't change anything.
The setup is running from USB with UNetbootin.

Are you doing something out of the ordinary when installing? You shouldn't even see anything about the package manager when installing. If you are going to add extra packages, it should be done after installing omv.

I've done the following steps:
1. download the latest OMV ISO http://sourceforge.net/project…5.0.24_amd64.iso/download
2. download the latest UNetbootin http://downloads.sourceforge.n…377544638&use_mirror=garr
3. started UNetbootin as Administrator and select the OMV ISO and the right USB and UNetbootin formats the USB devices and copies the data
4. Boot from USB, following the standard install wizard, and the error shows upI've found something on the error message "Configuring 'apt-setup-udeb' failed with error code 127", and now i\m trying to copy all the files from filesystem.squashfs to the root of the USB.

I wouldn't use unetbootin. Use dd or win32diskimager

The installer is working now, thanks for the solution!

Good to hear

I thought I will just confirm that I had the same problem:
1) used UnetBootIn from Linux to install the iso onto a USB stick
2) my installation gets stuck at package manager update download - error being 'download failed'
3) If I skip that step, I get stuck at a subsequent step 'grub-pc' installation failedReading a suggestion posted above, I tried using 'win32diskimager' from windows and the installation finished smoothly and succeeded without any errors.
