    • NFS problems saving files

After a new install and restoring data I mounted data shares from NFS-Server. Had no problems to access the data-Files, but when trying to save changes got error messages.

I changed then on the OMV NFS-Server in /etc/exports

      Source Code

      1. root@server:/etc# cat exports
      2. # This configuration file is auto-generated.
      3. # WARNING: Do not edit this file, your changes will be lost.
      4. #
      5. # /etc/exports: the access control list for filesystems which may be exported
      6. # to NFS clients. See exports(5).
      7. /export/Schule 192.168.178.0/24(fsid=1,rw,subtree_check,insecure)
      8. /export/home 192.168.178.0/24(fsid=2,rw,subtree_check,insecure)
      9. /export/media 192.168.178.0/24(fsid=3,rw,subtree_check,insecure)
      10. /export/public 192.168.178.0/24(fsid=4,rw,subtree_check,insecure)
      11. /export/images 192.168.178.0/24(fsid=5,rw,subtree_check,insecure)
      12. /export/files 192.168.178.0/24(fsid=6,rw,subtree_check,insecure)
      13. # NFSv4 - pseudo filesystem root
      14. /export 192.168.178.0/24(ro,fsid=0,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check,hide)
      Display All

      the line
      /export 192.168.178.0/24(ro,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,hide)

      to

      /export 192.168.178.0/24(ro,fsid=0,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check,hide)

a good approach? Will it last further changes on /etc/exports ?

      Bye Micha

    • Hope presented the Problem right:

A OMV Server and and a Notebook with Ubuntu. Tried until now:

      - created a user with passwd
      - Access via smb with passwort
      - Access via NFS using no_root_squash
      - mounting direct
      - mounting with fstab

Think it is a Problem copying the files while Installation, i just dont know which permisssions the files must have after copying to be accessible within mounting.

      Any hints?
