No HDD performance shown in "System Information"

  • Hi,
I changed my single HDD setup to unionFS+Snapraid. Everything is working OK. I still need to learn everything about snapraid, but this is another question.

Since then I do not get the performance monitor in Diagnostics->System information->Performance Statistics->Disk I/O->Traffic anymore.

And yes, there is some traffic for sure :)

    Any idea?

    Thanks for your hint.

    Best.

  • Using SnapRAID or mergerfs (unionFS) by themselves or in combination would have broken those statistics. Verify the Monitoring is still enabled. Other than that I have no ideas.

  • I had the same thinking - is this some fault of OMV? Is there a chance that I can fix?
    Thanks for confirming.

I just checked monitoring. It was on.
I turned it off and back on again - no change.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Did you upgrade to kernel 4.19?
    See this thread:
Monitoring: missing disk IO statistic values since update 4.19.0-0.bpo.1

Well I did not do it on purpose...the system did it via the implemented update routine. I just klick "do it" ;)
Lets hope that it will get fixed.

I just installed Netdata after a hint here:
CPU is quite busy - how to check why?

    This helps quite a bit.

  • I updated the kernel to 4.19 but have not rebooted yet. This might explain why I still have those stats visible.
