I've installed OMV 4.1.3-1 (arakis) after a Beug of OMV 2 which had changed my admin password (just after i decided to disable ssh). I don't know why.
1. What i expect from OMV
Today I need OMV for two things :
- 1st syncthing to synchronise files on my different computers (100Go Music ; 50Go documents (PDF, Text, etc.))
- 2nd OMV as music server. On OMV 2 i've used MPD, which worked very well, without any problem during tow years.
2. My minor problem : syncthing do not sync evrything
There are 14GO of music that syncthing refuse to synchronise, i don't know whay, it simply indicate "désynchronisé" i don't know what's would be the proper translation. That's a problem because il want anyone in my family who whant to rip a disk could add it on the server, just by creating a new folder on is own computer. On Synthing website i learn there may be a problem of file name. I wonder how could it be ? All my computers are runing on debian (Openmediavault, Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Lubuntu).
3. My major problem : no way to install MPD
MPD permit me and my family to create and launch music playlists just with our phone or computer. i've plugged a speacker to the jack-out of the computer and configured alsa to get a smart-hi-fi device. I also use it as streaming device to get all my music when i'm away from home.
I've found no way to install openmediavault-mpd on OMV 4. I didn't have such problem before because this software was included in omv-extra plugins.
4. What i've tryed to resolve my major problem
First i've installed OMV extra-plugins, but it doesn't include MPD.
I've tryed to create a .deb package with the binary package of the differents files of this website : https://bintray.com/openmediav…ial%2Fmain%2Fbinary-amd64. I've never managed. I've also tryed with openmediavault-mpd-master folder for developers, but i'm not a programmer, i'm a little lost with all those parameters.
I've tryed to install this file (http://omv-extras.org/debian/pool/main/o/openmediavault-mpd/) ; i've dowloaded it thanks to the plugin manager of OMV, but OMV refuses to install it.
I get the message you can read in the .txt document (attached).
I've also activated the "rétroportage", and i get a "communication failure".
Finaly, i've discover that someone encountered a problem to configure MPD on OMV 4 (here on the forum), so i suppose it's possible to install it !
Should i try to install MPD throught apttool 3.5 ? Could it work properly ?
Could i retry to install this file (http://omv-extras.org/debian/pool/main/o/openmediavault-mpd/) and to solve the missing depencies problems with sudo apt-get install command ?
