Samba logs - how do I determine the lenght (number of days)

  • Hello everyone,

I've been trying to figure this out for a few days and no luck so far.

I want to know how to determine and set the number of days that samba keeps track of changes / audits. When I look it up in the GUI log "viewer" it only shows the logs from today. I SSHd into /var/logs and found syslog - syslog.7 but that's also just a few days nowhere near how long the system has been up and running.

Another thing I noticed is that the logs are only in syslog combined with the other system logs when I go into /var/log/samba there are several files there like host names of the computers connected but all of them are completely empty.

So just to summarize I'd like to know is there any way to view more than todays logs in the web GUI and more importantly how to I setup the number of days for the samba audits.

    Thanks in advance!
