  • Setting up OMV onto Pi2.

Getting the following error when trying to install Docker from OMV

Then failing to load on refresh of page with error:

Sometimes it’s necessary to uninstall the docker-GUI plugin, run apt clean from the install menu of omv extras, turn docker ce off, run the apt clean again, turn docker ce back on and install docker- GUI again. If it doesn’t work, repeat until it does. Persistence, patience, and holding your mouth just right is essential.

You might try a clean install on a brand new name-brand high class SD card.

There is a thread on this topic. I will see if I can locate it.

You could install the recommended packages, it is pretty clear some dependencies weren't met, I just can't figure out which ones.

That isn't the problem. I thought I had fixed this but maybe not on some systems especially RPis. Purge the plugin (if it is partially installed) and then install docker-ce. If that installs properly, then install the plugin.

    omv-changerepo "Docker CE" enable
    omv-mkconf apt
    apt-get update
    apt-get purge openmediavault-docker-gui
    apt-get install docker-ce
    apt-get install openmediavault-docker-gui

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

Please put your OMV system details in your signature.
Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!

  • As you can see I've had a few cracks at this, but the repetitive errors that I've had previously are in the text, such as " File "/usr/lib/python3.5/weakref.py", line 117, in remove", I looked at a fix on a previous post but failed to find the file to try to change it. The other one is the docker service failing to start. Are they related?

Can I start the fix from this point?

Yes. The biggest problem is the RPi...

the repetitive errors that I've had previously are in the text, such as " File "/usr/lib/python3.5/weakref.py", line 117, in remove", I looked at a fix on a previous post but failed to find the file to try to change it

This is a warning and not causing any problems.

The other one is the docker service failing to start.

    Try
    rm /etc/default/docker
    apt-get purge --autoremove docker-ce

Then try the instructions in the above post again. It doesn't hurt to run them all again.

  • I am having the exact same problems, and errors as listed on this thread and the solutions posted above are not helping.

I am working with a brand new RPi 3b+ though.

I was following TechnoDadLife's video posted in the sticky on this forum on setting up when I errored out at the install of Docker.
