Backup Boot Disk (with Plugin)

  • I would like to backup only the boot disk, not the working partitions.
Using the Backup plugin, if I use dd I only copy the first disk, while if I use fsarchiver I copy everything OMV, including the data partitions.
    It's right?

Thanks in advance for your help.

No. All options only copy the OS disk.

    I'm sorry but I don't understand.
In the note of the plugin I read: "fsarchiver - use fsarchiver to clone all partitions to an archive file".
So what do I copy with dd and what with fsarchiver?
And, consequently, when do I use dd and when to use fsarchiver?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I guess it should say all system partitions. The plugin has never been meant to backup data drives.

So what do I copy with dd and what with fsarchiver?

They are just options. Use what works for you. dd only allows once backup. fsarchiver allows multiple backups.

And, consequently, when do I use dd and when to use fsarchiver?

Whenever you want. There is no right answer. If you use the scheduled backup, it will schedule it for a daily run.
