Well... this is some kind of story :D.
I'm an user of OpenMediaVault since one year ago (I started with an Atom, and then I bought a HP Proliant n40l). As all the people here, I wanted to install some plugins and some software into OMV, so I've been using some of scripts posted here.
Searching about how to install Owncloud without install dependences (as a simple pack), I've found bitnami stacks four/five weeks ago (on August). Bitnami is a company that creates Stacks for the most important opensource projects... and this stacks are installed on the server without touching anything: all the dependences (apache, mysql, ruby, rake...) come into the stack, and they are all installed on an unique folder (you can choose where to install them, ports to be used...). So, you don't need to install any dependences that could break OMV.
I tried owncloud, and I was able to install it without any problem. It worked awesome (and still is working).
BTW... about the story: in my professional life, I'm a sysadmin/devop. I'm really pasionate about all kind of software (I love all kind of opensource project, it's why I discovered OMV a year ago)... after check if the stacks worked as BitNami promised I tweeted "wow, I don't believe Bitnami stacks are free to use", they answered me "they are" and some minutes later "oh! and we are searching sysadmins :D"... two weeks later I had a formal offer to work with them :D!. I started to work with them the last week.
I promise you that this is not a "company spam" (as they still don't know anything about this post), I can proof it if you search on my twitter account you will see that I have been using OMV since sooooooo long. I've tweeted some messages when I discovered OMV, and when I started working in bitnami just some weeks ago. There are a lot of spanish/catalonian tweets, in fact, 99% of them :):
