mein neu aufgesetzter OMV 0.5.25 macht Probleme.
sobald ein Plex-Client gestartet wird, um z.B. einen Film anzusehen, ruckelt das Bild und der Ton. Sind 2 GB RAM zu wenig dafür?
Habe es heute gegen 12 Uhr ausprobiert, wie in der Grafik zu erkennen ist. Der blaue Bereich (Page Cache) geht auf Anschlag.
Würde es etwas nützen, den RAM auf 4GB oder nochmehr zu erweitern?

Solange used nichtmal auf 430MB max kommt würde ich dies mal ausschließen...

woran kann es dann liegen, dass der Stream des Films immer wieder stockt? Er läuft ein paar Sekunden, dann bleibt er stehen, der weiße Punkte-Kreis rotiert einen Augenblick, dann geht der Stream wieder ein paar Sekunden usw. usw.
Irgendwo muss ich versuchen meinem Fehler zu finden. Nur wo soll ich anfangen? MiniDLNA geht doch auch problemlos! ich möchte aber gern die Inhalte "on-the-fly" mit Plex transcodieren lassen und nicht für MiniDLNA VORHER stundenlang mit diversen Tools aufbereiten müssen.
Hast Du bitte noch einen Ansatzpunkt für mich? Danke schon jetzt.
CPU Last (wenn transcoding), Netzwerklast (vorallem bei wlan)... ?

Did it work fine before or did you have problem with plex from the start???? What cpu do you have???? I see how much ram you have. Are you using a plex client on your tv or DLNA? DLNA, streaming, would work better if you have low ram or weak cpu. Your TV is a Samsung?? Do you use Plex App from Samsung???
On TVs I do not use the client apps for Plex. They will transcode. I use DLNA. Plex does DLNA, like minidlna, and transcoding for client apps. They work different and are separate services running in PMS. I use DLNA even though I have good cpu and 8 gigs ram too. I want full qualitly of the video. Any time you transcode video quality is usually reduced.
I use Plex client apps only on my mobile devices (Tablet, Handi, etc...).

I use Plex Client with my Samsung TV-set or with my Android-Smartphone, always with the same error Image. It always comes back to stuttering and after each about 7 minutes a network error.
Can I still look elsewhere to isolate the error?

Give me more information on your hardware for your OMV. What is your motherboard, nic, ram, etc.. Is it a microserver?? I'm looking for solutions. Many people having issues it seems to be hardware or driver related.
HP Workstation XW8200; 2x Xeon 3,2 GHz, 4x 512 MB RAM; original Equipment from HP.
But other OMV hardware equipment with the same parameters as in the case of RAM 2GB, processor 2x3,2GHz makes the same error here with me. It may not actually be due to the HP hardware.
How old are the xeon cpus??? 2004 I am thinking they are having problems with transcoding. A newer cheap machine would handle it much better. The multicore cpus are much more powerful now.

I am afraid you are hitting a wall with this old machine my friend. I think cpu is the problem. That machine can still be good file server but maybe not best machine for all new mutlimedia endeavors.

You may have bought it 6 years ago but from what I looked at the cpu had been out some years when you bought it.
In technology 6 years is a long time.

Hast du schonmal versucht "Directplay" zu aktivieren?
Je nach Modell bei Samsung, unterstützt dieser auf jeden Fall Directplay und somit entfällt das transcodieren (Hier ein UE46ES7090).
Zudem gibts für viele Endgeräte noch einen Client, z.b. eben den auf dem Samsung TV.
Es gibt auch diverse Einstellungen in Plex was das Transcoding angeht, hab meinen OMV gerade leider nicht zur Hand. Evtl komme ich abends dazu!
