sources.list: Permission denied

After installing plexmediaserver something happened:

putting in the terminal as root:

apt-get update

I have:

if I do:

I've tried:

Yep, the sources.list is secured since a few updates.
So this is a normal behavior.

Aaron, if you would be so kind and send him the way to unlock it via PM if you think he should get it, of course? Got not much time atm.

Learn to make a repo file. This was done because people kept screwing up core files.

Don't give him instructions to alter sources.list. Show him how ez it is to create a separate repo file. In new version of OMV you will be able to add a repo in the web-gui.

I agree too.
But the fact is that following the tutorial to install Plexmediaserver I found myself in this situation.
What do I do now? I format?
Help me, even in private. So in the next version the problem will be solved with separate repo.

Done! Check your messages.

If you look at the Guide for Plex it says there is a plugin for saudarkar. You don't need to do all that work anymore.

Volker told me he is working on something for web-gui. I'm not sure if it will be in initial release or not.

I'm having this same problem. Would someone please be so kind as to let me know how I can 'unsecure' sources.list please? I'm trying to add SabNZBD+ (up to date version)

I need to install unrar now (not unrar-free). Suggestions I've found are to add the following to sources.list..

deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main contrib non-free

so I guess I could add a repo for this, though it seems like it would be defeating the point of locking down sources.list, right? Just trying to find a way to get unrar on the system the correct way..

Well, I added a repo with the contribs/non-free, installed unrar, then changed it to an invalid extension so it'd be ignored in the future.

With wheezy and OMV 1.0 you´ll be able to add and remove repos within the WebUI.

We locked the sources.list because it happened too often that someone changed settings which are essential for OMV.

With OMV 0.5, feel free to add your repos manually with creating an own repo file under

We are going to be able to add via web-gui sooner. I had Ryeco add a custom repo tab to Omv Extras. Also, I figured out problem with shellinabox last night and there should be a version upgrade for it too.

Hey all,

This is starting to become troublesome.. i'm trying to install an unofficial version of mono as required by NZBDrone (well, unofficial to Squeeze).

The Squeeze version is 2.6.x NZBDrone requires >=2.10.1

Well, that didn't work.. backports for squeeze seems to be getting me to the same old version..

This is quite the pain to get an updated mono installed.

Got it running, had to go (temporarily) nuclear on it.

obviously removed that afterwards. Works fine.

The right way is to use additional sources.lists.
