Spin down over usb?

    hallo zusammen, hi all (for english see below)


    Ich habe eine externe HD über usb angeschlossen. Leider funktioniert das spin down nach 10 min. nicht. Kann es sein dass diese Funktion über usb einfach nicht funktioniert?


    I connected an external HD over usb. Unfortunately the spin down after 10 min. does not work. Is it possible that that funcion is not working over usb?

    Let me add to that. Some USB adapters/drives will allow spindowns, while others do not. The same is true about other features such as SMART. So, in short, it really depends on your USB drive or adapter.
