driver for dawicontrol raid controller

  • Hi

    OMV doens't see my raidController.
    it's a dawicontrol ds-624e.. it uses a Marvell 9230 chip

I've earlier, using xpenology, used this command to load the dawicontroller:

    echo 1b4b 9230 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ahci/new_id

    But it's not reboot proof..

    Can someone help :)

Did you try installing the backports 3.2 kernel? If you have the omv-extras plugin installed, you just have to click the Install Backports button.

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

Please put your OMV system details in your signature.

  • hi

    I didn't try that.
I installed the plugin. selected to install backports kernel..
it says reboot to take effect.. I rebooted it and it doesn't seem to have changed anything.. :-|

    am I missing something..

the server is headless.. do I need to do anything during boot?

What kernel does it report in the Information Box of the Primary tab of omvextras?

All I could find about that chipset and Debian is support started with the 3.7 kernel. That means you probably need Debian Wheezy and the Backports 3.12 kernel. You will be able to do that with OMV 0.6/1.0 Kralizec but this has not been released yet.

  • oh...
    well wait what.. who..
I did a fresh install of OMV, then installed plugin, then backport.. booted, and the disks appeared..
    unfortunately.. I've lost a disk..
I had 1 ext4 disk JBOD from a synology with some files.. what showed up in "raid management" the first time I installed.. I didn't do anything to it.. but now it's gone..

Can I somehow import it.. mount it.. rebuild the ext4 partition?

some ssh command that'll do the trick?
