OMV as Enterprise Sever

    Hello,


    We got a brand new Dell Server with a PERC H700 Raid Controller. I tried Openfiler und FreeNAS, but Openfiler is really buggy when it comes to integration with our LDAP Server und FreeNAS doesn't work with the RAID-Controller. While I'm looking for an alternative, I've found OpenMediaVault. But I'm not shure, if it really fits our needs.


    What I need is:


    - Samba Home Directories for every LDAP user
    - Samba shares where I can restrict access to LDAP-Groups
    - Maybe Apple shares, I'm not shure if we will need them.
    - Support for external LDAP authentification


    Any suggestions?

    Even though all of this is possible with OMV, at the moment LDAP support is somewhat on the testing stages. With that said, keep in mind that OMV is not meant for business environments, it was mainly designed for home use.
