  • A little quick to say it worked. I cannot get to add any library to plex.. I can open the interface to add library, but when i try to save nothing happens

Sounds like a permission issue. I just installed it on my test vm (0.6.0.10svn) and it works fine.

That is correct for the database folder. I meant permissions of the folder for the media which will be different than the database folder.

    Zitat von "pezman"

Can be something different with .9 and .10???

Not that would affect plex. It only affects the web client viewing directly within the omv web interface.

Yes i have... But i allways deleted the folder before reinstalling plex

  • You should make sure the user is deleted too (with userdel plex). But your plex uid is 114 and the plexmediaserver folder is 114 too. So that is not the issue.

How did you get your media folder 777????

No, I see from stat command it is nogroup.

Give me stat command on your media folder please. What is name of folder where you put your media (music, movies, pictures, etc..) and the path?

  • Last time i used the OMV, Did it from Shared Folder - ACL . And i checked the replace and recursive box... I had no problem with plex om OMV 0.5. I have no diffrent setup on my media folders than before

  • Well people mess too much with ACL and plex. You do not need it. You only need privileges. All plex needs is to read only on files. So chmod 775 or 755 is fine. Undo your ACL settings. Then tell me name of your main media folder and the path. We try to fix it in command line.

I just see this and it looks fine....

    Access: (0777/drwxrwxrwx) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 100/ users)

But there is never a need for 777 and plex because it needs only read only, 775. 5 for last digit means all other users can read it.

Get Team Viewer on the machine you connect to OMV. Install webmin too. One of the mods will get on it when we can. I'm going out to dinner now.

    Soz...

  • I got it to work today.
I stopped the plex server and copyed over my old confguration that i had backed up.
Changed the user and group top plex and nogroup with chown -R plex:nogroup plexmediaserver/
    and started the server again
Now i can add and delete libraries.
Seems like it's a plex problem with the files it creates..
I tried with the chown -R plex:nogroup plexmediaserver/ on the folder that plex made.. But i still could not add my libraries.
