Problem with WDTV Live accessing NFS share

  • My previous server was setup using ClearOS 6.
I setup NFS on using this guide:
    http://www.clearfoundation.com…id,40/func,view/id,44756/
The WDTV had no problems accessing the shares.
At the weekend I rebuilt the server using OMV 0.5 and everything works apart from the WDTV not being able to access the NFS shares, Samba works fine.
I've also installed Logitech Media Server and Madsonic, both of which are using the NFS shares with no problem.
I've set the options the same as in the ClearOS guide, ro,no_root_squash,async, but still no joy.
Scratching my head here, so has anybody any thoughts on this?
I'd much prefer to use NFS to Samba as the access time is much faster for WDTV.

  • I have had the same problem. After hours of spending time in the internet I have found my solution.

In wdlxtv config at file sharing network mount the link should be:

    Code
xmount 192.168.1.108:/export/media Medien nfs tcp rsize=32768,wsize=32768

Of course you have to config these to your adresses. Means: "192.168.108" = your OMV IP, "media" = your omv folder, "Medien" = folder name at wdtv.

My problem was that I have missed the "/export" at the netowrk mount link.

    Hope this will help.

  • That's great, many thanks. I'm currently using the factory os on 3 of these, which did work fine with the clearos setup.
Will give the palace firmware a go on one just to see if it fixes this.
