Backup/Clonezilla install

  • Hi,
Press the Clonezilla button after Clonezilla installation I get the following message:

    Code
    Generating grub.cfg ...
    Found background image: /usr/share/images/desktop-base/desktop-grub.png
    Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64
    Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-4-amd64
      No volume groups found

    Done...

What is wrong? How can I fix it?

You need to press the button that say boot one time. Then reboot and Clonezilla will start.

Do you think for Clonezilla button? If yes, I have already pressed it and reboot OMV, but Clonezilla did not start.

The message was correct. Tekkbebe is correct as well. Post the output of:

    cat /boot/grub/grub.conf
    cat /etc/grub.d/42_clonezilla
    cat /etc/default/grub

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

I wish people would use the tab key more for my typos :) Everything so far seems right. Still need to see the grub config.

OK, wait to see what Aaron says. It seems it should be working but I'm not sure on all grub settings.

Until then, let me ask you something else:
I have installed the Kralizec more times, but the System Information/Status/Interfaces page is always blank.
There is not any information on it, even the Refresh button does not appear.
Have I it this way only? I regularly deleted browser cache.

That looks right too. Can you boot Clonezilla when you manually pick the option in the grub boot menu?

The Advanced Options menu may be messing it up. I don't have that on any of my systems. Did you install Debian Wheezy?

Yes, I can choose (boot) Clonezilla manually at the system start. It is in the grub boot menu.

For nic missing you can install backports kernel with button in OMV Extras. That may fix it.

I have successfully installed the backport kernel but unfortunately the Interfaces page is still blank.
Currently it is not too important to me. Later, you will solve it.
