transmission 2.84

  • Does anyone have transmission 2.84 running and could kindly point me to the right Direction to get it working? :D
Is there a tutorial how to build transmission for OMV from source?

    • Offizieller Beitrag

Here is how we build the 2.82 package for OMV. You could probably just insert 2.84.

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

Thank you..but where to get the Debian packaging for transmission 2.84 (backport) ?

    • Offizieller Beitrag

I doubt it has changed much. You could probably just change the changelog to reflect the newer version because Debian hasn't included 2.84 yet. Is there a newer feature in 2.84 you need?

What do you mean by "change the changelog to reflect the newer version" ?
Could you please explain in more detail :D
2.84 is just bugfixes...but version 2.82 is starting to get banned on some trackers now.

  • If it gets banned that would mean that you could fake your ratio with it... I see no other reason to ban it. But this would make it reasonable to update to 2.84.

The file in the debian folder called changelog is where the package version comes from. Change it to 2.84. I don't think you will have to change anything else.

I built them but I can't test them. Assuming you need amd64 packages, go here.

    Thank you!.. :D

    ..but:

    where to get libssl1.0.0 ?

  • dpkg does not resolve/install dependencies, only apt does this, therefore:

    Code
    apt-get -f install

And the dependencies will get fixed.

  • Then you have to wait for Kralizec which uses Debian Wheezy which has a newer version of the library.

I built these packages on wheezy. I wouldn't use it on squeeze (omv 0.5).
