openmediavault-vdr 0.5.6 device not detected

  • New to OMV so apologies if I'm missing something obvious.
Im running OMV 0.548 and have installed the openmediavaul-vdr 0.5.6 package from omv-extras.
I've attached my UK DVB-T2 USB device - PCTV 290, but on clicking "Check for connected devices" a get the message "Number of connected devices:0"
Is there anything I need to do to enable it?
Running dmesg from a shel suggests that it being detected by OMV -

[ 8140.319018] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid
    [ 8140.319019] usbhid: v2.6:USB HID core driver

    [ 8158.093102] usb 1-1.2.2.2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

    Any ideas?

  • Just because it pops up in dmesg, does not neccessarily means that it has a driver for it.

Did you check wether or not your device has driver support in the 2.6 or the 3.2 backports kernel? If its only the latter you can try to install the newer kernel.

    Greetings
    David
