USB drives, no boot when not attached

  • I'm running a pogoplug. All storage attached is usb based. If I unplug one of the data(not OS) usb drives, say, one of my disks used only for backups, attached it never boots. I've tried adding 'noauto' and removing 'nofail' from the fstab but the system still fails to boot if that usb disk, or one of the others isn't attached. This is concerning because with a pogo plug there is no console unless you use netcat, and that isn't always useable. Anyway, i'd like the system to come up and provide services for whatever is still attached, regardless if I disconnect one of the drives or one fails.

Suggestions? I've never had a problem as long as noauto was in place...

Here is the relevant section of my fstab.

    Thanks for any help!

nofail should be what you want. I think setting noauto will cause more problems because they aren't mounting and OMV wants them to if they haven't failed.
