Deluge trouble

  • For the last few hours Ive been trying to install deluge using this guide http://linuxpluse.wordpress.co…nmediavault-deluge-1-3-6/

Currently having errorr launching it. Using -L give errors for both deluged and deluge-webui. http://pastebin.com/QWmuBGbM

Ive given 777 permission to all directories there was an error for. For hostlist.conf.1.2 I used the template from github without success, and it still cannot access it.

Im a linux newbie, and cant stand the featureless transmission, so any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Please post the output of the following commands

dpkg -l | grep libtorrent and find / -name libtorrent-rasterbar.so*

Seems like you need to run ldconfig to fix that issue.

  • It worked at first, but after rebooting spits out

    Running ldconfig again doesnt help

  • As a note: The tutorial is lazy. To tell you to run a service as root is not a good idea.

    ls -laH /root/.config/deluge/hostlist.conf.1.2

  • Being a newbie, I just follow tutorials as instructed normally and hide everything behind ssh from the net

    Code
    root@openmediavault:~# ls -laH /root/.config/deluge/hostlist.conf.1.2
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 extplorer users 171 Sep 22 06:02 /root/.config/deluge/hostlist.conf
    .1.2
  • Erm, just re-read your output again. Though it does not find a config file it states deluge is now running on http://IPofYourNAS:8112/

  • It says its running but trying to go to the port gets me "no data received". I may not be a genius, but Id cry if I missed that.

Edit: managed to get it working. Reinstalled omv (was a new install anyhow) and installed 1.3.7 from deluge repo. No idea what was wrong, but hey, its working now.

Edit again: Figured what the issue is... hell if I know why its happening, but its not omv specific

  • Sorry to bump an old thread, but this issue seems to persist. I'm testing Transmission, but I think I'd prefer a client more comparable to uTorrent. Are there any other options besides uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling directly from the deluge repository?

Also, after installing either the current version or 1.35, the dialog box never says "Done," so it's a little concerning for a new user like me. It looks like the process may not actually have completed.
