Backup to server Linux

  • I need some advices for buckup.
I have severals shared folders as CIFS and I have to backup to another server Linux.
Some folders rarely change, other more often, and others again are constantly changing.
So I can not have a single backup strategy.
For example, I would like to store the documents with some versions to eventually recover an earlier version.

The most important folders are on a volume with RAID5 and the other on a volume with Mirroring.

Furthermore in the backup server I can mount either NFS or CIFS folders.

I need some advice for one or more plugins and their configuration.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Use the openmediavault-remoteshare plugin to mount the backup server's nfs or cifs shares to your main server. Then use the the openmediavault-rsnapshot plugin to make hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly backups (you select quantity of each) to the remote mounted share.
