dav server , a real one with impersonation

  • hi,

this post is an awfull howto for having a webdav server serving homedirs (and eventually groupdir) not with a common uid/gid (the one wich runs the webserver) but with those belonging to the account used to connect. Unfortunately it runs under apache and can be shellschocked.

    All information is here https://www.ipbs.fr/dav/index.php

I ve succeded in running nginx and apache on my omv (in fact i define a virtual ethernet eth0:0 with a new ip and i bind exclusively apache on it (file /etc/apache/ports.conf), i ve modified nginx to bind on the real ethernet eth0 file : /etc/nginx/sites-available/openmediavault-webgui)

    now, my questions:

    A) is it possible to have this functionality with nginx (i m not a nginx specialist)?
    B) is it worth (in the case of answer to a is yes) to try to implement a plugin ?

many thanks in advance for your responses

  • Why don't you implement it with nginx directly? And the nginx plugin?

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Because i don't know nginx, and i don't know where to ask ?
Moreover, i m not sure than php-fpm is compatible with the wrapper i describe ?

Thanks a lot for your answers
