Password Change GUI error, SMB password not changed

  • Hello friends, on my fresh OpenMediaVault install, when a user logs in and changes their password, an error is received and the user's login password is changed, but their samba password stays the old one. I'm writing this post in the hopes that I have only done something wrong and it is not a bug.

    What happens:

    1. log into GUI as regular user
    2. attempt to change password
    3. receive popup error

    Code
    Missing argument 2 for OMVSMBModule::modifyUser()

    4. Subsequently, login password is changed but SMB password is not.

    Back information:
Samba is enabled and works, user home directories are set up and work.
Admin user can change other user passwords no problem.
User in question is in groups "users, sambashare"
Browser is Chrome version 22.0.1229.94 on Linux
    screenshot of the error: http://i.imgur.com/tjxct.png

    System:
    Version: 0.3.2 (Omnius)
    Processor: Intel Xeon E5205 @ 1.86Ghz
    Kernel: 2.6.32-5-AMD64
    RAM: 2Gigs

I tried Googling for an answer, searching the forums, and searching the bugtracker. I didn't see any bugs that seemed to be exactly or related to what I am seeing. Am I doing something wrong or should I open a bug ticket?

    Thanks.

You can always do as root:

    smbpasswd aldoszx

or just smbpasswd as user from the command line.

    I know that.
I am talking about changing the user passwords by themselves, and i a comfortable manner (not via cli).

Sorry, I didn't realize the user had to change the password. I was just suggesting an alternative until the gui is fixed.
