openmediavault-emby plugin (formerly mediabrowser)

  • Sergio, I wish you all the luck for a proper recovery out of this Accident you had at your home. I hope your ensurance pays you off 110%! Also, keep up your work with the Plugins, as I would think that this type of thing won't happen to you again.

Plenty of people deleted files because they didn't read Volker's messages when deleting a shared folder. So, it happens.

    You thief of my words!

Guess it was the wrong wording. Just trying to point out that one small missing word in one place caused all the problems.

  • Anyone care to try the update? It should be very safe now and working well on my VMs. You can remove but don't purge version 1.0.2.

The update installed succefull but the plugin doesn't start up.

    the mediabrowser xml said:

  • I need to see the output of those commands balsak.

Serg, it just was not tested enough. We should have done more testing before we released it out of the beta repo.

Here is the output of the commands

And then for the file itself

In the process list it doesnt seem like ffmpeg is starting to decode the movie, all i get in the time bar is nothing not even showing how long the movie is just this --

  • ls -al /media/46770666-eeea-4d36-ae18-97ee16b2edd8/

Some Folders maybe from the old erase partition (backup usb stick) because the old plugin version has try copy the database folder to new the point before i abort the cp process.

  • Notes:
on removal config.xml entry seemd to not be deleted
on reintsall mediabrowser folder on data drive was mediabrowser:users
believe this is because the init script in the package was altered???? Would like to see default init script.
    service nginx stop
    chown -R mediabrowser:nogroup /media/uuid/mediabrowser
edit init script and change group to nogroup
    start nginx
    testing stuff.

There are even alterations in the init script to do checks against omv config.

    Really want to see original.
It is rather slow on scanning media and getting meta data.
Post config chown is change to your joe(example):users so still issue with group being changed
    service nginx stop
    chown -R joe:nogroup /media/uuid/mediabrowser
    chown mediabrowser:nogroup /media/uuid/mediabrowser
    service nginx start

Not working.... going to test as users group...
No it didn't forgot they got that when loaded via samba...

This thing is not ready for launch...

created another user post changing group.. crashed the ui.

I tried to install package from website.
Using the repo that the plugin was using I get:

    Code
    Unpacking mediabrowser (from mediabrowser.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of mediabrowser:
     mediabrowser depends on libc6 (>= 2.15) | libc6.1 (>= 2.15) | libc0.1 (>= 2.15); however:
Version of libc6:amd64 on system is 2.13-38+deb7u6.
      Package libc6.1 is not installed.
      Package libc0.1 is not installed.
     mediabrowser depends on libmediainfo0; however:
      Package libmediainfo0 is not installed.
  • Just tried on my system, looks to be working ok to me. I did change the group to nogroup where ever it was set to users.

  • I don't see where Sergio was getting requisite dependencies. It seems we need some stuff from debian wheezy unstable.

I installed mono-complete from the repo he was using with the plugin.

I'm getting breakfast. If you get further Miller fill us in.

  • It wont play as its is using the ffmpeg in the share and as we know the share will not allow file to be executed, the program should use another location for ffmpeg.
    /media/95260349-5cd4-4ca5-a354-d9d21edf7f91/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/20140716/ffmpeg

What I did it to move ffmpeg supplied in the app to a location where it can run then created a symbolic link to it

    Code
    mv /media/95260349-5cd4-4ca5-a354-d9d21edf7f91/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/20140716/ffmpeg /ffmpeg
    ln -s /ffmpeg /media/95260349-5cd4-4ca5-a354-d9d21edf7f91/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/20140716/ffmpeg

    Files now play

  • The package was as nogroup or nobody from what it said on their website. Did you try any music. I noticed that not all the categries were populating, like artist for example.

init script group need to be nogroup in package.
original db location @ /var/lib/mediabrowser the folder is correct chown but contents are mediabrowser:users
after enabling chown is correct on the the contents.

    cd /opt/mediabrowser
    mkdir ffmpeg
    chown mediabrowser:nogroup ffmpeg
    cp /media/uuid/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/20140716/ffmpeg /opt/mediabrowser/ffmpeg
    rm /media/uuid/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/20140716/ffmpeg
    ln -s /opt/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/ffmpeg /media/uuid/mediabrowser/ffmpeg/20140716/ffmpeg
