So I've plugged a USB drive in (HDD in USB caddy)
It shows up fine as a physical disk, but shouldn't it then show in file systems so I can mount it and copy data from it?
It's from an old OMV setup so is formatted as EXT4.

I don't see anything other than your os drive and raid array. Are you sure the drive is working?

Yes, it definitely works, here it is in the physical disks.
I had OMV 0.5 on my HP MicroServer, I backup all my data to this drive, then removed this drive.
Wiped all other disks, installed new disks into MicroServer to RAID, upgraded to OMV v1, then plugged this drive back into import data to new disks.
How about the output from: fdisk -l

It says sde doesn't have a partition table. I think you might have wiped it...

Holy s**t ... I think your right, kinda, I think it's damaged/corrupt.
I just connected it to my Ubuntu laptop and it wont mount....
Awww crap. This is the exact reason I wanted to get data off that drive and onto Raided WD Red drives...
Nevermind, nothing too important, just Movies & Music etc.... I Think....... (Although was about 900GB)
Thanks for your help anyway!
Photorec & testdisk might be your friend for getting back your files
