Seems that installing owncloud, has also installed apache2, and replaced the nginx web server in my machine.
I also reproduced it on my VMs.
Are there any steps to repair the damage?

What instructions did you use???? Did you just install the plugin or how did you install???
update-rc.d -f apache2 remove
service nginx start (or restart if running)
refresh browser
PS- if apache is disabled is doew not matter that some apaches file are installed, like for sites enabled. You can just leave any apache files where they setup. The plug installs the requisite files for nginx and they are the ones that will be use if nginx is running and apache is not.

I did nothing... I only installed it from the gui (yesterday). Then I went to enable it and realized that I didn't had a certificate so I left it alone.
Today, after a reboot, the GUI was down.
I saw at the web response what seemed apache responding "hello world". And I also seen at the VMs test installs apache2 installing.ZitatIt works!This is the default web page for this server.

I had typo. I had fixed it be not in time.
Read the Guide. It will save you a lot of head aches.

I think time is better spent just getting the plugin updated. I will message Volker about it.
