Shellinabox plugin in testing repo

Yeah, sorry it took me so long to realize it. Hopefully we get a fast fix.
-
I went to go use shellinabox today, and it too doesn't work for me.
1. Tried disabling and re-enabling in the OMV gui. No luck.
2. Tried uninstalling and re-installing. No luck.
3. Rebooted OMV.
4. I hadn't used it since I did the OMV update.
5. Putty works no problem (so I guess I can use that. :). But either the interface in OMV or opened in a new browser tab are a no go.
6. I don't tinker or do weird things at the command line really, so...I guess from what I've been reading in this thread there's possibly a bug with the OMV update that is interfering with the plugin? (I don't remember updating the plugin recently.)
So I'll follow this thread and hopefully there's a fix soon... Is there any sort of log I can upload that might help?

Nah, Volker must be busy because he has not seen my message yet. Hopefully he will be on it this weekend. This bug is effecting other plugins as well.
-
Any word on this yet?
-
It is fixed in svn. Next version (1.16) will have the fix.
-
Sweetness. I'd have to say the moderators and developers for OMV are pretty great. Kudos!
-
-
And it's working again. You guys are great!
-
Don't know if already known, but shellinabox (the ptrogram behind the plugin) seems to have been forked and moved to github since original devs are unreachable.

Knew it over a month ago. They are trying to get new version in the Debian repos. We are waiting for that.
-
working fine here...
OMV 2.1.8 ALL possible updates installed vie update menu.
Shellinabox working like a charm -
Daniel, can you tell me what version of shellinabox???
dpkg -l | grep shellinabox
I have it running on my machine but I had to build new version from github.
-
-
by the way, this might sound dumb, but after I just enabled it, it was not working....
I had to click on the "start" icon (pluging header bar) at the screen so it would actually start and launch whenever I tried to access it...
-
The start button has to be used. If it is started via the apply config it disrupts the web gui. It disables normally.
It is strange this version is working for you on Stoneburner. You may have one of the dependencies still that is lost with the kernel upgrade to 3.16. That is all I can think of why it still works for you. There was a library in the OpenSSL server that was lost in upgrade of the OpenSSL package, libssl0.9.8 .

I installed OMV new. Am I correct that shellinabox is currently not avaiable and the only other option for Windows is putty?
Other question @tekkb, sorry for OT but don't want to start another topic. I tried to install webmin according your guide
Codecd /opt wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.730_all.deb dpkg --i webmin_1.730_all.deb apt-get -f install
but not possible.
First it don't like '' I removed and it worked, but 'dpkg --i webmin_1.730_all.deb' was not possible either. (I took newest 1.760 from webmin page)
-
Couple of typos in there... Should be:
wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.730_all.deb
dpkg -i webmin_1.730_all.deb
apt-get -f install -
-
@'tekkb
I am not sure what you are asking for. Link to webmin?
