Wake on Lan per Ping und nicht per Magic Packet

Hallo,

ich würde gern meine NAS mit einem Ping oder mit Zugriff auf eine Freigabe aufwecken. Momentan funktioniert das ganze nur mit einem Magic Packet. Das finde ich aber unpraktisch. Mein Windows PC z.b. kann per Ping aufwachen. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit OMV so zu konfigurieren das es auch ohne Magic Packet aufwacht? Ich habe schon viel gegoogelt aber nichts gefunden.

Depends on the nic card model, for example in mine ethtool eth0 | grep Wake gives me

Supports Wake-on: pumbg <-- no "a" (arp/ping) mode there,

Notice this will only work in an environment where you can set static ARP entries in router (tomato, openwrt for example), so this function in a standard home router would only work maybe 10-15 minutes top after the machine has being shutted.

I've noticed through another german user the routers called fritz can trigger a wake on lan there is access attempt through a WAN port that is fwd to a internal machine. Is like a port knocking.

i have a Fritzbox and a ddwrt Router, i will test it.
Is there a possibility to send a magic packet if i access a share automaticly?

I know fritz box does that, is a check box I believe. But I don't own one, so maybe another user/mod can help you pointing that.

In Heimnetz => Netzwerk, click "Bearbeiten" on the machine you want to wake.
If it is connected through LAN, you will have a button to wake on LAN immediately as well as a checkbox to wake the device, when it is "accessed from the internet" (I never tested this option).
