mount smb via openVPN

  • hi all

A friend has created an openVPN connection for me.
    it works perfectly in windows..
but how do I mount it directly on my OMV?

I tried with remote share plugin.. didn't work..
    I tried with:
    \\ip\
    sharename\folder

    \\ip
    \sharename\folder

    ip
    \sharename\folder

is there some special thing I ned to consider..

You need to setup a vpn client on your omv box. The openvpn plugins are servers not clients.

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

Please put your OMV system details in your signature.
Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!

    Hi Ryan

Thanks... I probably should've mentioned that I already setup an openVPN client on my router, so the shares should be accessible on all clients :)

This worked.. Thank you.. dunno why I didn't try that as well.

  • Can you ping the remoteserver from your nas cli when connected via VPN, can you manually mount the share to your Server?
