XFS not recocnized at Hot Plug

  • Just to report. No big issue.
I just inserted a hard disk out of a Zyxel one-bay NAS into the running system. There is a small system ext2 system partition and the big storage partition is XFS.
Ext2 was recocnized by OMV, XFS not. After a System restart, I have both.

If the system and/or kernel don't have hotplug enabled, it won't work.

As I said it worked for ext2, but not XFS. Makes no logical sense for a noob like me. Where do I enable?

I missed the ext2 part. Reboot your system and try loading the xfs module (modprobe xfs) before plugging the drive in. If that works, you can add xfs to /etc/modules. If it doesn't work, it is probably something with the kernel your zyxel is using. Recompiling a kernel for that would be a lot of work...
