Getting rsync errors all of a sudden

  • Good evening all!

I have been running rsync on my OMV box for months with no issues. All of a sudden one of my jobs is now returning errors. 4 of my 5 jobs are running fine. Just one is now returning errors. The one job is giving me the following errors:

rsync: link_stat "/media/a1180518-c98a-4c53-9452-e6c94f6a4c76/serverfolder1/Mya" failed: No such file or directory (2)
    > to </media/80c56146-50b0-4c25-885d-d1a5158c275b/serverfolder4/FLAC Rips/> ...

    sending incremental file list
    9]
    nt 12 bytes received 12 bytes 48.00 bytes/sec
total size is 0 speedup is 0.00

Here is what the rsync-jobs log is showing:

Here is what the rsync-server log is showing:

The job that is giving me fits all of a sudden is attempting to sync the following shared folder:
    serverfolder1/Mya Backups/E Drive Backups/FLAC Rips/

    With this shared folder:
    serverfolder4/FLAC Rips/

I have double checked all of my permissions, shares, etc. All seem fine to me.

Any ideas? Hopefully it is something simple...

    THANKS!

You didn't even give your post 1 day and you complain that no one was helping you??? I just saw this post for the first time now.... And you didn't post what fixed the problem?

Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!

  • Seriously people. We support you on all kinds of request nowadays, even such that are far from having anything to do with OpenMediaVault itself. And the one time you don't get support within 24 hours, you just rant about it, say you figured it out yourself (Hey, thats great!), but you don't have the courtesy to tell us what fixed it?

All Moderators combined made over 30.000 posts, for free, in our spare time. And that's how we got thanked for it...

"Well... lately this forum has become support for everything except omv" [...] "And is like someone is banning Google from their browsers"

  • Oh come on ryecoaaron and davidh2k. I wasn't complaining about a thing. Ok - I should of worded it better. I apologize as my intent was not to "rant" on anyone. I know you all are very busy and everyone has always been very helpful and yes you do tons of work for next to nothing. I was as in a hurry and yes I wasn't very careful with the way I said it. I should of said, "No one responded to me because you all are very busy and I figured it was not that tough of a problem - so I did some additional research on my own and figured it out."

I figured out that I did not have naming conventions correct for my shared folders. Once I corrected that, it worked like a charm.

I still love OMV and will support you all to the end. I have used everything else out there and nothing else comes close.

I will let you both slap me silly if we every run into each other... :)

    Have a nice day!
