UPS Query - Sorry I know it's yet another one!

  • Hi all,

A newbie here with OMV and only a smattering of linux (Ubuntu/Debian), though learning the hard way.

My issue is the configuration of the USB monitoring of my UPS (Powerwalker 600 VI) which I thought I had done correctly as stated in a few threads on here, i.e. entering driver = usbhid-ups and port = auto. However when I look at the UPS log I just see 'Poll UPS [PowerWalker600VI@localhost] failed - Driver not connected', along with a few other messages like communications cannot be established and so on. Similarly when I look at Services > UPS I get Failed to execute command 'upsc 'PowerWalker600VI' 2>&1': Error: Driver not connected...

I am beginning to think I am stupid, yes I know I probably am, but I cannot follow the linked documentation, it doesn't actually say ... install this driver here, see I need it simple :P .

Has anyone got a link to simplified instructions or any advice. I do have the PowerWalker software for debian AMD64 but this is for a java GUI monitoring software and I would prefer to keep everything within OMV.

When I run lsusb -v I get the following: (Just the relevant part is pasted below)

  • hi all.

i recently got a new UPS and you guest it, its a powerwalker same like the one above here.
my problem is almost the same and i have try'd to set it up just like the post above me suggested
but if i do this it states Communications with the UPS ups@localhost
    cannot be established.
i have try'd to use the blazer_usb driver and many more listed in /lib/nut with no success.
The same with the port i try'd auto,/dev/ttyS0 also with no success :|

out put of lsusb -v is

    output off upsdrvctl start is

    Code
Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.6.4
Network UPS Tools - Megatec/Q1 protocol USB driver 0.08 (2.6.4)
    No supported UPS detected
Driver failed to start (exit status=1)

any help will be great full
