Conky on OMV

Hello,

Im trying to set up conky on a newly designed NAS with the latest stable OMV. When I got conky from apt-get,installed it and ran it, it kept giving me no display error. Did some research and found that conky requires gnome or kde to work. I tried to install gnome-core, did not work then tried installing gnome-desktop-environment, could not load gnome nor conky. I dont know what Im doing wrong but cant get it working. Is there any way to get conky running on OMV without installing Debian wheezy?

I don't know about conky, but your last sentence needs some clearance. OMV is debian wheezy.

Reading about conky you need a desktop environment to work. Review your installation steps again.

Let me try to clear that up...What I meant was Debian wheezy netinstall, I know that OMV runs on wheezy but it doesnt include the desktop environment. Is it not possible to install a desktop envronment without the debian netinstall?

Yes you can install a desktop during install and after install. And if I recall correctly you should be able to select the desktop component in netinstall.
