Check the manual of UrBackup. urbackup.org/administration_manual.html If you are using zfs: First setup the server such that the temporary directory (/tmp) is on a sufficiently large performantfile system. If you are on ext4 you can disable use of /tmp in the GUI of UrBackup The server downloads the file into a temporary file. This temporary file is either in the urbackup_tmp_files folder in the backup storage dir, or, if you enabled it in the advanced settings, in the temporary folder. At least…

Quote from Shinobi: “ou can partition it and install OMV on one partition and use the other as a sharedfolder (appdata) ” I have it that way as well. Installed OMV on the SSD. Shrinked the filesystem and created an additional filesystem at the end. One of the pit falls is: if you have a SWAP, you need to move SWAP to the left before creating the new filesystem at the end.

Yes, try. Should work. If not, use sdx. If you have an SSD or USB pen-drive as OS drive you can also just set a general spin down value. hd-idle -i 3600 in /etc/default/hd-idle to sping down all (spinning) drives after 30min

  • Quote from wowter: “nothing in processes really stands out (to me) ” You can try with htop from the CLI. After starting the program you can use F6 to sort by column. CPU% or TIME might be interesting. CPU% shows you the current CPU usage per process, whereas TIME shows you the processor time the process has used. So even if the process in question does not show up with high CPU% right now it might have a high TIME value. deonsworld.co.za/2012/12/20/un…monitor-system-resources/

  • You created the user1 in the GUI of OMV, right? Then he should be member of the users group. Can you post the output of: ls -l /sharedfolders/AppData/Nextcloud ls -l /sharedfolders/Nextcloud

  • You need to find out what is filling your drive. Start with du -xhd1 / this will show you the size of each directory without descending to other filesystems (i.e. without descending to your data drives). Based on the result you might have to dig deeper in the directory which is using the most space. Usually it is either a PLEX database growing too large, issues with docker or a rsnyc job to a drive which is not mounted. Then the data are stored on the OS drive instead of the target data drive.
