Hi,
my omv is running off a compact flash card. Stable, but slow. My shares are on SATA drives with RAID 5. I modified the minidlna (and Logitech Squeezebox server) config to use the faster RAID drives for using logs, databases and cache, there should be a way to do this via the minidlna web-GUI. 
Suggestion: cache dirs for mediaservers
