I have a unit that is not starting the network. After an update that a customer did, it started one time, I believe, and was working, he was able to access the GUI over network. He said it had a red banner that said "software error" or something like that, so he wanted me to look at it. So it was shutdown and he brought it to me. Now it won't find the network card and set up networking.
An ifconfig only shows the lo.
In the boot log, this is what shows regarding the networking.
ZitatAlles anzeigenSetting up networking....

SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth1: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

done.
lspci output:
ZitatEthernet controller: Intel Corporation Device 8c2d (rev 04)
I've searched the forums, etc., tried some things, hasn't worked.
I set up the system in Aug 2014, not sure what version it is.
I booted the system with Knoppix, the network card works fine.
What shall I try? I only have console, no network.
When I run omv-firstaid, and select "Configure network interface" the screen goes white and drops to command line immediately.
