Network recycle bin?

  • Does anyone know if OMV has a network recycle function similar to QNAP which retains multiple iterations of files that have been changed, or even whether it keeps copies of deleted files for a period? I don't know the technical name for this feature and cannot find any reference to something similar in the forums or documents.

OMV does not. I'm sure something like that exists for Linux (Debian) and could be installed on OMV.

  • OMV does have a "Recycle bin" feature, similar to Qnap or Synology ones.

On "Shares" you can edit your shares properties and enable "recycle bin", then a hidden "recycle bin" directory will be created on the share.
