Can I rewire my cables, so the order of the disks changes? I want to change /dev/sdf to become /dev/sdb. I'm not using RAID, all disks are separate disks.

Because of this reason OMV does not use devicefiles, e.g. to mount the file systems, instead the UUID's for file systems and WWN or devicefiles by name for devices are used.
There should be no problem if you do not do dirty things
You can change the cables and boot the system, if you see something going wrong you can switch back.
