Error w Clonezilla

  • Place the post here, fits better.

I saved succesfull the image of sys drive w clonezilla yesterday.

Now I wanted to restore it. Started clonecilla in the web gui of omv .

The data drive where I saved the image is not seen.

I want to shutdown th NAS, but this is not possible from "user@debian" , need to bee root.
How I can become root ?

    or

Can I crash the system by switching power off and then normaly start NAS w power on ?
    .

  • Is your SSH root login enable in OMV?
If you have the power button enable to shut down in OMV, then you can do a hard shutdown.
    It not an issue.

Saving the image on the data drive isn't a good idea.
In your case, your image could be in a different directory.

  • THX,

I saved on a data disk bcs one mod recommended.

Why not on a data drive ? Where do you store the image ?

I think I messed up my system bcs I thought it is also possible to restore image also
    headless via putty .

What I did : from omv webgui I let grub configer clonzilla to start once, then run clonezilla
and tried to restore. But system drive became not mounted ? ? With next try data drive wasn't
there any more and fabstab dir had disappeared. ? ? ?

I'll try hard shutdown and see what happens.

PS : hard shutdown is not available bcs user@debian active from clonzilla backup install.

Any idea how I can get root rights ?

The clonezilla user has sudo rights.. So, sudo shutdown -h now will shutdown the system.
