first build : ECC + Xeon + HDMI MB ?

  • hi,

I want to have ECC + hdmi on board motherboard + 10 Satas port

I want to replace my thecus N7700pro with 7 * 3 TO drives, and want to use OMV (debian 7 power :))

Raid 5 on XFS, 7 disks + 1 SSD (os)

maybe ZFS for testing, don't know seem dangerous to me ;) only know legacy and raid.

Used for NAS (samba, sickrage, pyload, twonky ...), and media server : plex or kodi
Need gigabit transfer, actually got 100MO/S between windows and thecus.
    On: 24/24/7 365/365

    here my temporary build:

    MB: Asrock C226M WS
    CPU: Intel Xeon Processor E3-1231V3B 3.4 4 LGA 1150
    RAM: Transcend 8GB DDR3 Memory 240Pin Long-DIMM DDR3-1600 ECC Unbuffer Memory TS1GLK72V6H * 4 (32GO)
DVD: Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)
    DD: seagate ST3000DM001 * 7
PSU: Seasonic SSR-450RM ATX 12V/EPS 12V 450-Watt 80 Plus Gold certified PFC Power Supply
    SDD: Intel 520 Series Solid-State Drive 60 GB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-Inch - SSDSC2CW060A310
CASE: Fractal Design Define R4 Cases, Black Pearl (FD-CA-DEF-R4-BL-W)

Don't think, this is the good MB for this, need help for the motherboard.

I prefer to have more than less for futur upgrades, add sata pci card + new DD, ...

price for cpu is 400$ max

    What are your advises ?

That system should be just fine :) I don't think you need a dvd drive though. Plenty of people use ZFS without issue as well.
