OMV's web interface simulates installing the package to get the proper information it needs. When it does this, it is running into a dependency it can't get and generates the error. There is no way to remove it.
I would remove deb-multimedia as well then:
apt-get update
apt-get autoremove
hmm it looks like it boils down to build essentials etc

ok, done. its gone from the list when i grep iscsi now but plugins page still gives the same error 
still think it could be something to do with not being able to install build essentials gcc make etc

These are dev-packages and are only needed to compile something. What do you want to compile?
You can remove those.
because of what was mentioned in here as a fix
the problem was similar and i'm clutching at straws !
