Raid 5 with different drives?

    Hi i have 3 4TB drives, one is a WD green 5400rpm and two are hitachi 7200rpm,
    First of all can i raid these with raid 5?


    And does the drives have to be empty?
    The WD drive is almost full thats why i ask.

    Can you raid 5 these? yes. Each drive will run as fast as the slowest drive.


    The drives don't have to be empty but they will be erased when creating the array.


    Just remember raid is not backup...
