Raspberry Pi - OMV can't see USB HDD when it's connected via a USB hub

  • First off I'm loving OMV - what a great piece of software.

I'm using a Raspberry Pi 2 running OMV 3.0.5.1, and a 2TB external HDD which is formatted NTFS, shared via SMB and has it's own power supply.

I power my Raspberry via a USB hub, and would usually just plug everything USB into that.

Since I installed OMV, however, the Pi will only recognise the HDD if it's plugged directly into the Pi's USB port. If I plug it into the hub, OMV doesn't see it.

Can anyone shed any light on why this might be happening?

I'd like to eventually plug in more than one drive, hence I'd like to use the hub if possible.

Is your hub powered? I wouldn't use ntfs long term either.
