use omv-extras, and check clonezilla option or revise OMV-backup:https://bintray.com/openmediav…mus/openmediavault-backup
Thx, i check this
I have a problem with installation. How can i install openmediavault-backup ?
Ok, i fixed it.
I installed this, but i dont know how to use it. Where I can find documentation/tutorial?
Install the Clonezilla backup, it's reliable.
Ok, i have Clonezilla. And now i must restart OMV and choose Clonezilla live, and create .img?
However, Is it possible to actually set somehow, lest even create an image komputeraz available on the LAN from the panel OMV?
The instruction for start Clonezilla is in the forum.
1. Set the boot as "Clonezilla" in your kernel option.
2. Then restart your server.
3. Follow the rest of the instructions on the screen.
Ok, so i cant clone disk from OMV administration panel, only I must reboot omv sytem and in GRUB choose Clonezilla and follow of the instructions to create disk img, yes? I understand good?
Clonezilla can't clone a mounted disk and you can't unmount the OS disk to run clonezilla. So, yes, you must reboot and choose clonezilla from grub. You can set the kernel option to clonezilla or you can set it to boot one time and login to the box headless.
Well OMV does not meet my requirements, shame.
I must find other solution
Maybe somebody know of any something solution? I must create .img via LAN and .img write to other disk, and must be posibility restor this .img. And to be able to set date and automaticly create .img. There is such a thing with free license for corporation?
Well OMV does not meet my requirements, shame.
Why? Not sure what requirements it doesn't meet?
You want to create an image of a running OS?
Example:
I have Windows 10 , and Windows 7
I have something server/physical disk, whatever.
And I have OMV
Now I want or press button create .img and I choose eg. WIndows 10, next i choose server/physicall disk where OMV must save this .img.
And next OMV same create .img and save this to this choosen server or physicall disk.
Or (better for me)
All what is it in Example make automatic a specified time.
Can something like that achieved using OMV?
I guess I still don't understand. You want to create an image of a Windows 7/10 system and save that image on a fileserver? Or do you want OMV to write a saved Windows 7/10 image to a hard drive so you can put that in another system? Confused...
Where is the .imag come from?
When you execute Clonezilla from the boot grub or Clonezilla Disk, it prompts you where you want to save your image.
You can save it on a local disk or on your data disk or a network drive.
"Or do you want OMV to write a saved Windows 7/10 image to a hard drive so you can put that in another system?"
Yes! And if the system breaks down, then restore it is for this image.
But i dont want use clonezilla, becasue i must reboot system and manual clone disk.
What program is going to create the Windows 7/10 image? Clonezilla?
I use Acronis True Image and write *.img to my share NAS (share SMB folder on my NAS), so I can revert win10 to production in a few minutes.
But is a pay aplicatiion.

"objectprogr" if I understand your needs you want something like FOG server.
a backup server with ability to take images from a PC and than clone the image to new PC or just keep it for recovery use.
OMV is essentially a NAS system with extra abilities.
the closest thing OMV has for your need is UrBackup plugin in V3.
this is a new plugin that just been added to the mix and I am not 100% sure how it works.
just google UrBackup and get an idea if it fits your needs
based on a passing glance "UrBackup" is similar in some way to FOG server except that FOG server has more capabilities that just backup. it has PIX boot server that allow you to create and restore PC images by booting an empty PC using network boot, it can act as DHCP server (in fact it is a strong preference to do so) and more, where UrBackup is just a Client/server backup solution.
what you would need in essence is several machines real or VM to run all components.
1. a Backup Storage server. A NAS or a like. i.e. OMV server, a simple NAS etc..
2. a UrBackup server running on real hardware or VM, your choice/want
3. a UrBackup client running on the target PC
OMV running on reasonably specked hardware can satisfy options 1 and 2 just fine, especially with UrBackup plugin in now available.
Ye, Acronis it is good, but i must find something with free license for company.
I read a little about FOG, but i check this and UrBackup!
Some other question, if you can somehow without removing the contents do connect OMV NTFS drive because I have a lot of data do not want them removed?
