How do I create iSCSI & CIFS shares on same Raid1 Drive?

  • Hi,

    Trying to setup the following:

    2 x WDRED3TB in RAID1

    On the Mirror:
Create a iSCSI share for exclusive access by MS Small Bus Server for sheduled backups.
Creatre other user CIFS shares for user backup and general open shared for media.

I can create a LUN for iSCSI on the RAID but then the can't create a filesystem on it. If I take the iSCSI LUN out I can. Is it possible to have both system shares on the array, from what I can see it's not. 3TB's is overkill for SBS, but need to automate the SBS backups and keep a full instance of the data dailly. SBS won't do it via CIFS share, must be iSCSI.

Have 1 x 250GB Seagate so could get another one for iSCSI Mirror.

    Suggestions?

Found this article on freeNAS on setting up both CIFS and iSCSI:

Can it be done on OMV?

    Thanks,

    James.
