OMV - connect to existing NAS drive

  • Hi,

This may be a dumb question (and apologies if its in the wrong section). I'm just setting up an OMV NAS and I'm wondering how I would connect to the shares of an existing NAS?

I have a 5 year old WD Mybook Live that is my current archive drive, I'm looking to replace this due to its age but I'm thinking of using it for backups of a new drive - ideally I'd like to Rsync to it - is this possible or should I use FTP?

    Thanks,
    Darren

If the mybook live has an rsyncd server, it would be easy. If not, you can use the remote mount plugin to mount samba, ftp or nfs shares. Then you could rsync on the OMV box to the remotemount share you create.
